The role

You will be a part of our development team and work on the development of the Speedment stream ORM. It is a modern alternative to Hibernate and a software tool for enterprises that run Java applications and relational databases, which can increase the data access performance by order of magnitudes and makes it super easy to write database applications.

Responsibilities

• You will work in sprints with various tasks on both the open-source project, the Enterprise product and customer projects.
• You will collaborate closely with our CTO, CEO and marketing team.

About you

You are a passionate and outstanding developer. You are curious, like to learn new things and are persistent to achieve the sprint objectives. You are probably graduated or on your way to take your Master of Science in the field of computer science.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• MS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience or on the path thereto.
• Good coding skills in Java with an intention to eventually become Excellent.
• Good ability to identify key requirements and take independent rational decisions.
• Excellent ability to learn from inevitable mistakes made by others and self.
• Results driven, thrives in a development environment that is agile, collaborative and in start-up mode, even when faced with ambiguity.

Advantageous Abilities

• Good working knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Technologies Used in Development

Some of the technologies used in development include: 

Maven, Jenkins, Docker, Linux, Git, GitHub, JUnit 5, Java 8, Java 11, Google Cloud, SonarCube, REST, Spring, WordPress, MySql, Postgres, Oracle, DB2, MS SQL Server. 

It is not a requirement to know all of these technologies in advance.
